Captain's Mystery Race 16/4/18

After the success of last years Captain's Race I've decided to host another event, which is also included in the 2018 Road Championships.  


All race details will be given out on the night. Here are some details you need to know :-


Date :- 16th April


Race Briefing :- 18:30hrs (at LSV at the entrance to the track)


Race Start :- 18:40hrs


Presentation follows straight after the race.


Race fee of £3.   All finishers will receive a A&T special prize. 


Distance :-  More than 1 mile and less than 6 mile.   (somewhere inbetween)




I do need to know beforehand if you intend to enter this race.  So please let me know names ASAP if you are attending.  If anybody is not on the blog or facebook please can you spread the word.

Manchester marathon – Sunday 8 April 2018 by Mark Riches

My earlier post refers HERE

I attended the marshals briefing last night and have received confirmation that we are in our usual place - drink station 11 Kingsway bus stop opposite Stretford Mall M32 9BD

I have jackets, ID & marshal handbooks for you all but food & drink will NOT be provided so bring your own; the organisers make a larger donation I lieu of packed lunch!

I will be there from 07:00 along with a couple of other people; elite runners are due at our water station at 11:04, our busy time is likely to be 11:45 – 13:15 and we should be done by 16:00

You can do anything from a couple of hours to the whole day – just come along and have fun!

Rivington Fell Race by Tim Campbell

It goes up, then it goes back down again.  

Rivington Pike fell race, this Saturday at 3pm.

Possibly a couple of shandies in the Crown afterwards.

Ideally we need 20 volunteers to ensure that we get our own water station as in previous year so if you are free on 8^th April and have not yet registered, please can you do this before Monday 26^th March when the registration system closes?

Wolf’s Pit cancelled 

Wolf’s Pit race tomorrow is cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. Yes, even fell races get cancelled sometimes!

Wolf's Pit Fell Race (AS) 

Little Red Riding Hoods need not attend! This weekend sees the return of the exciting sport of fell racing to the A&T calendar, with a cracking little course to start the season at Wolf's Pit in the Peak District. It's just under 6 miles long with 1500ft of climb, so doable, but challenging, for fell virgins. The race starts at 11:00 and entry on the day only is £7 with proceeds going to a local good cause "Bradda Dads".  

Parking is at High Peak Garden Centre S33 0AL, apparently they sell mars bars there.

Further race information can be found below. Note that you are required to carry full FRA gear which is outlined on the the web page, this includes a link to a map you can print off. Let me know if you don't have access to a colour printer and I'll print a copy off for you.  

If anyone has any further questions, is nervous or needs to borrow some kit, then don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll sort you out.

This is also a Run the Moors championship race.
