Lostock 6 Race report

A good solid start to the 2018 Road Championships with 20 blue vests making it to the start line in freezing conditions.

The were some great individual performances with a good number of you smashing last years times. (you all must be taking your winter training seriously).

It was a perfect start for the ladies picking up 1st place in the team category.   Thanks to Jackie / Sue & Louise.   Well done ladies.

For the men it was nice to see a new top 3 with Stu Livesey coming home first followed  by new member Phil Lomas and Gareth Jones.

League tables and points are currently being updated according and will be uploaded to the website once fixed.

The next race is only a week away with a good old favourite ' Trotters 5' start time 10am.

Hope to see you all there.

Lostock 6 - Road Champs 2018

Tomorrow See's the start of the 2018 A&T Road Championships, with a 6 Mile loop around Lostock starting at the Barnstormers Public House.

For the new members amongst us club vests or t-shirt to be worn during the club races this year.

As road captain it is my role to place you into a league table once you have completed a club race.  League tables have normally been based on 10k times or equivalent.  I have moved runners up and down over the last 2 years depending on how i feel they are currently running.  I intend to do the same again this year.  If you feel you should be in a higher or lower league that i initially place you in then please contact me to discuss.  My aim is to get the leagues balanced and competitive as much as possible.  If your coming back to running from an injury lay off or  i consider you to be flying and smashing PB's  i will do my best to accommodate you in an appropriate league.

The will be no Park Run bonus points this year.

The Vets age group for male & female will be set at 45 from the first race as discussed at the AGM.  (please don't be offended if i ask you your age !)

Thanks

CB - Road Cap'n

Calling all XC mucky pups! by Michelle Fairclough

The penultimate Coss Country race of the season is this Saturday 17th February. It's the last of the local ones so it would be great to see some more members having a try.
South East Lancs
Astley Park, Chorley, PR7 1XA
Ladies start 1:40pm
Men start 2:20pm

If you raced at Tandle Hill or at Leigh Sports Village (20/1) then use the same SELCC number.
Anyone who hasn't raced and would like to try you can register on the day for £5. Bargain.
If you fancy a try at cross then this is an ideal course to have a try. You would benefit from wearing trail shoes over regular road trainers but it's not impossible if you want to just have a go see if you like it. Please remember your A&T vest.
I'll be there on Saturday and I'll happily come with you to collect a number, show you where we (attempt to) pitch our tent and a quick description of the course.
Please let me know if you can make it. It would be great to get enough runners out to make an A&T mens and a ladies team in the results.
Bring the family with you to watch, it's a lovely park with a play area for the kids :)
Note: the postcode sends you to The Barons Rest which can get busy, I park on the main road and walk across the park to the start.
Happy to answer any questions, just message. Hope to see you there!
