Astley & Tyldesley Road Runners AGM Sunday 29th January 2017
27 members attended the meeting including the committee.
Chris Bennett reported the 2017 road fixtures have been freshened up with a few new races whilst still supporting the CLGP.
Neil Hughes offered to help Mark Riches with the Cross Country.
Tim reported that A&T RR have joined the Fell Grand Prix to hopefully encourage more members to try out fell running.
Matt Thorpe will be sharing the Tri Captain role with James Bentall. They are looking at trying a new scoring system using age groups. There will be 2 categories:-
1. Duathlon/Sprint/Olympic distances
2. Half and full Ironman distances
Details will be put on website.
Malcolm reported after a turbulent year in 2015, 2016’s accounts were calmer but with continuing increases to costs mainly England Athletics memberships the club’s bank account had reduced by £910. He suggested subs be put up by £5 to £35 for current members with a view that they may need to go up a further £5 next year as England Athletic fees are set to continue to rise. This was accepted by the members attending the meeting.
Current members have 28 days to renew or their membership will lapse.

Gin Pit 5 to be held on 8th October.
Official training nights were discussed. These were confirmed as:-
Track and Jon’s 10k
Atherton Train Station in the winter and Beefold Lane in the summer
Efforts session, on the East Lancs in the winter.
Malcolm asked for volunteers for the Sunday of the Gin Pit Double on 19th March, 4 people are still required for check points and time keeping of the Gin Pit Half.
Malcolm also reminded people to enter the Gin Pit Half as many say they are going to enter and to date haven’t.
Volunteering at this year’s Manchester Marathon was discussed. We would like to do it again as it is enjoyed by the volunteers and our members who run, as well as a good source of income to the club. Lynn also mentioned helping out at Ironman and the revenue that brings into the club.
David Sloan spoke about the Ultra section, there will be a list of races and more information on the website shortly. To be considered in Ultra champs members need to have done the minimum of 1 ultra (50k or longer) and 2 trail marathons.
