On Thursday evening 5 A&T athletes competed in the 3rd race of this years North Cheshire 5k Grand Prix series at Bowdon. The weather was very wet which made running on the trails through the park area a bit of an ordeal. The course is 2 laps around Bowdon of which is mostly road with about 1k of the aforementioned park trails mixed in.
In a strong field of 188 runners Liam Renton of Warrington AC won the race with 15.56. Scott Christey was first back for A&T taking 46th place overall with 18.49. Colin Kay had another good race to claim the V55 first prize for the 2nd time in the series with a time of 19.13 and 52nd place overall. Well done Colin! The Baron followed these two in a few minutes later with 22.36 in 123rd spot. Michaela Shaw had a decent run to complete in 23.05 and taking 136th position. Bev Tickle also had a good run in testing conditions to finish with 27.43 and 177th position.
The 4th race in the series is back at Dunham Massey on Thursday 14th June.
