Lymm 10k race report - Sunday 15 April 2012‏

Yesterday, I joined over 400 runners for the first ever 10k event at Lymm.  The route was a two lap course on traffic controlled roads, pedestrian paths and part trail through the village of Lymm - part downhill and unfortunately part uphill...!  The event was well organised and route well marshalled - though lacking in 118 118 cheerleaders I thought!  Although an expensive entry fee of £18, the race provided chip timing, two water/jelly baby stations and an over flowing goodie bag...the bag itself was one of those hessian shopping bags (not sure the boys were that bothered but think the girls were quite pleased) containing a t-shirt, various cookies/biscuits, a large chocolate coin, a banana, a lip balm, an energy gel, a muffin, a commemorative paperweight and quite randomly a bottle of Nando's peri-peri sauce...!  We also had results sent by text and our names printed on our numbers so we got personal support along the way.  Despite the hills I somehow managed to beat my Bent & Bongs time by around a minute with a time of 57.03.
