To all those who have volunteered for the Manchester Marathon A&T water station
This Thursday 12th April, Tim Holdsworth who is one of the organisers is coming to the Gin Pit at 6pm to talk to us about our water station in more detail. We need as many people there as possible although it's not a life and death situation if you cannot make it.
In his own words A&T have the "unique" task of manning the only water station which the runners pass on two occasions (7k & 41K) and we are going to be based outside the Stretford Shopping Centre.
I have put my idea of 2 groups to him which he has agreed as long as all of us are working at the busy times (11-1) for runners doing between 2.15 and 4 hours.
Tim expects that the majority of the runners won't be needed water at 7k but the option is there is they need it hence why we don't team a full team.
I will lead group 1 which will be 8.30 - 1pm and the second group will be working from 11 - 3.15pm, i have asked Mark Riches to lead group 2.
Please could you email me (or facebook me) with your preference of which group you would like to work.
There maybe the possibility that group 1 have to work a little longer but this is unlikely.
We will all be together at the busy period of 11 - 1pm
The team leaders (me & tba) are the responsibility of making sure the water, energy drinks don't run out and will be wired up to the race organiser .. we are also next to the emergency services.
All to be explained on Thursday.
