Reebok Manchester Sizzler 5k - By Paul Basnett

On a muggy Thursday evening 4 A&T members made their way up the M60 for the 3rd 5k race of the 4 race Reebok Manchester Sizzler series. The race had 372 entrants of all abilites in which Stuart Stokes of Sale Harriers won the race in what I believe was a course record time of 14.28.
First back for A&T was Paul Mannion in a time of 16.10 and taking 10th place and the V40 prize in the process. It looked like, from a distance, that the prize was a marshalls jacket so when I asked Paul what he had won he also thought it was a marshalls jacket. So if you see Paul marshalling with a rather posh jacket at the next Gin Pit race you'll know where it came from. In reality I think it was a high viz Ron Hill running top.
Second home, and not far behind Paul, was Lewis Eccleston running a cracking PB time of 16.30 and taking 15th position. I then came in a few minutes later with 22.01 and taking 186th position. And our first lady back was Joan Cooke with a PB time of 27.18.
The last race in the series is on Thursday 11th August at 7.30. It was announced that if they collected over £300 in the charity collection at the end of the race then there would a spot prize for every 20th finisher at the next race.
