6 A&T members made the short journey to Amberswood, Wigan to compete in a brand new trail race which was being organized by Springview football club with all proceeds going to help the junior football club, each runner had the choice to run 5k (1 loop) or 10k (2 loops) on the scenic paths and bridleways around a local nature reserve.
Due to lack of Marshall's on the course most of the runners at some point got lost and probably all ran further than expected.
I (Gary Stevens) was first runner home in the 5k 'plus a bit' in a time of approx 20 Min's.
There are no official results but in the 10k Shaun Moran was 4th (40.30 ish) and Suzanne was first lady home just pipping Ian Hamilton. David Crowe was next in followed by Clare Unsworth.
The organizers i think have to make lots of small improvements to take this race to the next level however the A&T members had a great time and had lots of laughs on a glorious day in the sun!
