I ran Liversage Half Marathon on Sunday 13th February. I managed to stagger over the finish line with a very respectable (in my opinion) time of 2 hrs 12 mins 28 secs, which I am very pleased with and I finished 355 out of about 420. This was my first Half Marathon, so probably not the best choice for my first one (I have been told this several times by various people).
It was a windy and wet day, but that wasn't the worst of it as those of you who have run it will know. There was a steep hill at around 6 miles and another long but not as steep hill at around 10 miles. I will admit to having to walk at parts but I knew I would, no shame there.
At around 12 miles my legs wanted to give up but I kept on going. I wasn't going to let it beat me and give up, no way! I was going to run over the finish line if it was the last thing I did. I dug deep and managed to run over the line with only one thought in my head - never again!! (famous last words)
