Loughrigg-Silver Howe Fell Race by Paul Jackson

This Sunday I took advantage of a break in the Lakes to run in this 8m/2500' out and back fell race from Ambleside. A cracking run over the snow covered tops of Loughrigg and Silver Howe, and back via a checkpoint at Lily Tarn before the finish in Rothay Park. The snow made the descents very slippy but great fun. Visibility was fine for the race but mist blocked out the views if the surrounding fells.
I finished 32nd in a field of 60 in 1:39 something.

Next Saturday is the Noon Stone Fell Race from Lumbutts, Todmorden. It is a 9m/2300' AM race. Not a champs race but if anyone fancies joining me, give me a shout. Full safety kit required.
