Lostock 6 - by Gary Stevens

On a busy day for races the club still turned out in force to support this local 6 mile undulating road race organised by Lostock AC.
The rain and wind greeted us on arrival at Lostock which made conditions far from ideal for runners looking for quick times although the rain did stop in time for the start of the race.

Peter Chan 10th (34.56) and Shaun Moran 11th (35.06) had their usual battle with Pete just coming on top. Another on going battle was the one between myself (Gary Stevens 15th 37.14) and Alan Hilton (19th 37.46), another tit for tat battle but this time i came on top giving the club 4 runners in the first 20 finishers.

John Lee (38.31) continued his return to form with another improved performance.

Mark Lysycia (41.34)  back from a weeks skiing was next with Stuart Adamson (41.52), Derek Coop (46.08), David Crowe (48.51) with his first proper run out since November and Nasser Isman-Ejal (48.01) completing the men's line up..Nasser's showing some improved fitness after some recent appearances in the speed sessions.

The men pushed Horwich RMI all the way for 2nd overall but we came up top in the vets category to win with the team of Pete,Shaun, Alan and John..."well done lads".

Maria Lowe (38.21) once showed her quality even with marathon training in her legs to finish 1st lady with Josie Maley 2nd (40.18), Suzanne Gregory (46.21) and Vanessa Thompson (49.03) all having great runs to  make up the ladies team who came 1st in the team event, fantastic to see and hopefully a sign of things to come.'well done girls'...and especially great to see Suzanne and Vanessa part of a winning team.

Regular racer Cath Hodgetts stuck to the task well to finish in 55mins 24.
