About Us

Established in 2001 with over 120 members the club competes in various road, fell and x-country races during the year.
The club is affiliated to the British Triathlon Federation and have a ever increasing group of members interested in duathlon, triathlons, open water swimming and even Ironman!
We also have a thriving social scene and hold various social events through out the year.

Marathon Runs by Matt Crompton

Runs for marathon group for next 2 weeks. 

W/C  31st January

Tuesday -  http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4258971 - Round the block (anti-clockwise) plus a loop of roundhouse going up Bolton Rd - 8.7 miles

Thursday 3rd February - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4258992Gloucester St, Wigan Road, Schofield Lane to Daisy Hill, Hindley Road, Coupland Road, Wigan Road, West Leigh Lane, Kirkhall Lane, Leigh Rd, Hamilton St, Tyldesley Rd, One way system, Squires Lane, cut past Fred Longworth, Tyldesley Rd, Douglas Rd and back to central - 11.76 miles

Sunday 5th February - 21 miles. (This is a tough run but once its done you will be left feeling very satisfied with yourself!)  http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3556231 – Starting at Red Lion Car Park at 4 Lane Ends. St Helens Rd, Smethurst Ln, Watergate Ln, A6 to Chequerbent, past the Tavern, left onto Beaumont Rd, Chorley New Rd to Beehive pub, A6027 past Reebok Stadium, over motorway to A6, left to lights and down Dicconson Lane to Aspull, left at the Queens Pub, through Whelley towards Wigan. At Scholes lights turn left and follow the road to Hindley. At Hindley turn left to Westhoughton, past McDonalds, Park Road (sorry for the hill so late on), Chequerbent and A6 back to 4LE – 21.4 miles

Thursday run setting off at 6:15
Sunday run setting off at 9:30 (starting at Red Lion car Park)

Thursday 10th February - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4259005 - Central, Newbrook Rd, Salford Rd, Watergate Lane, Smethurst Lane, St Helens Rd, Salford Rd, Watergate Lane, Smethurst Lane, St Helens Rd,Hulton Lane, Wigan Rd past the Tavern, Snydale Way, Manchester Rd, Newbrook Rd and back to central - 12.4 miles. 

Sun 13th February - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4208419 – Central Station, Dougie, Tyldesly Road, Manchester Road, Mort Lane to Little Hulton, Manchester Road to Church St, Cricketers Way, Leigh Rd, Schofield Lane, Wigan Rd, West Leigh Lane, Kirkhall Lane, Leigh Rd, Hamilton St, High St, Tyldesley Rd, Dougie and back to Central – 17 miles
