Stockport 10 by Janet Grint

Did my local Stockport 10 road race yesterday. It was cold and very icy and my teeth were chattering on the start line in vest and shorts,  I soon warmed up ! Id not done a long run for ages so me and my pal decided to drag each other round. It became apparent half way that my stamina work with Shaun is paying off ,as I was the one doing the dragging.
The last mile is all uphill and she was really stuggling and telling me to go on. I decided to stick with her and we ran over the line together in 1.18.01 (my watch). As I bent over to catch my breath she was given a spot prize and won a jacket ! Did she give me the jacket to say thanks for all my encouragment and assistance ? No she didnt - the witch !
I really like this race. Its got three decent hills in it and the marshalls are all really nice. I got a nice log sleeved more miles t-shirt and a goody bag, which. amongst other things contained a dog biscuit (woof) and some dried worms ?!
Really good value race at 12.00.
Thanks
Janet
