A&T cross-country – Witton Park, Blackburn 18/12/10 by Mark Riches

This was the second visit to Witton Park this season as there was also a Mid Lancs race here in November. However, it was a very different Witton Park due to heavy snow fall overnight. It fact I only got confirmation that the race was going ahead as planned after a course inspection at 08:30 am
Most people chose not to travel due to the treacherous driving conditions but  4 intrepid A&T runners did brave the elements – see below

Brenda continued in her rich vein of form finishing an excellent 11th overall & 5th veteran. As this was the last Red Rose race the series results have also been published & Brenda finished 3rd in the veterans category. Red Rose presentation night is Friday 11 February 2011 (date for the diary)
Next it was the turn of the men with Simon leading home the A&T men with an excellent 13th place. Next it was Troy, who complained about the slippery conditions every time he passed me & it was 4 laps! Terry Hughes completed the line-up with another good run, which takes him into 3rd pace in the veteran category in the Club Champs with 3 races to go
Following the cancellation of the Bolton fixture on 04/12/10, it is now up to the best 5 races to count in the Club Champs & latest standings are on the X-country section of the website
