I drove to Nottingham on Sunday to compete in the Robin Hood Marathon. It was my 6th marathon of 2010 & I completed it in 3 hours 33 mins 23 secs.
It was a lovely sunny day with a light breezy. A bit warm for running but I’m not complaining, there won’t be too many more nice days like this before the winter is here.
It was a first for me in a few respects, I did a negative split and did it in fancy dress.
I ran with some friends and we dressed as school kids.
It is a lovely marathon and half marathon, there is about 12,000 competitors and a great big city marathon atmosphere. The route takes in several parks, the castle and the banks of the river Trent making it a really interesting marathon. It is an event that is well organized and has everything and I would recommend it to anyone.
Regards
Malc

Well done Malc.
I agree with you, I ran this in 2008 and its a good event, particularly the first half when the course is busy and the support on the streets fantastic.
I particularly remember a big bunch of kids banging saucepans with wooden spoons to encourage runners.
