North West Road Relays - Senior Women Results

The results are finally in for the North West Road Relays Senior Women and what a joke they are.
Firstly, I must say our Ladies did a fantastic job on the day and looks like they finished 7th overall in the race. Split times are as follows:-
Maria Lowe: 12:50
Josie Maley:13:12
Carole Baines: 14:38.
However we are listed under Merseyside (together with Leigh Harriers) where apparently we finished 2nd - didn't see any medals though.
We should have been listed under Gt. Manchester where we would have finished 4th. However Salford Mets had 2 runners who recorded 15mins + and 1 runner with a rocket in her shorts who apparently recorded 8:59 for a 2.15 mile leg!!. Salford Mets were awarded a medal on the day.
I will be appealing strongly to the race organisers as I am pretty sure we've been robbed of a 3rd place finish in the Gt.Manchester championships and well deserved medals for the girls.
Whatever the outcome I'm sure, you'll join me in congratulating the girls on their magnificent achievement and for putting our club on the map.

What a great showing from our ladies, especially for a first go at this kind of competition. Congratulations to the team and the best of luck for tommorow.

Either:
A) The Salford Mets runner set a world record (with a 2.15 mile run in 8.59) as the two mile outdoor women's World Record is 8.58.59.
OR,
B) The organisers made an almighty cock up and should come clean.

My money is on B!
