Whittle Pike Fell Race (AS)- Wed 4th August - by Paul Jackson

This is the only occasion that a Fell Champs Race co-incides with Road Champs Race and as Fell Captain, I have to bring this race to everyone's attention to be fair to all who are challenging for prizes in the Fell Champs/Grand Prix.

This is a 4.5mile/1400' ascent race that starts at 7.30pm with the registration at Cowpe Village Hall, Waterfoot, Rossendale. £3.00 entry on the day.

It is a cracking race with some steep scrambles and quick descents.

Anyone thinking of running the race and wants a lift or join the convoy should be ready to leave the Rail Station at 6.15pm.

If you are not in the running for a fell prize then I'm sure Garry would appreciate seeing you at Chorley for the 4.4 mile trail race.
