As I don't like training but enjoy racing I decided to do a 5k run in Leyland on Saturday afternoon.
It turned out to be only a small field of less than 50 runners where I finished 20th in a PB time of 23.45
The run was in a park and it was half grass and half path so good practice for the up and coming x-country season where I may not finish quite so far at the back this year!
The efforts sessions I have been doing on Monday and Wednesdays have helped as I now feel a bit more comfortable keeping up the pace when fooked!
I even managed to out sprint 3 people in the last 200m and Suzanne will be pleased to hear I didn't even resort to using my dip! So many thanks to Shaun and Peter for taking time out to do those sessions.
The race entry also included a free day pass at FX leisure but I couldn't take up the offer as it for was only that day and I had not brought my cossie!
