9 A&T runners made the short journey to Birchwood to compete is this ever popular 10km event of just under 800 runners in what was warmer than expected conditions.
I (Gary) led the way with my fastest 10km for nearly 4 years and i think 4th fastest time ever in 38mins 13 to finish 65th. A rare outing by Jon Hyde was our next finisher in 40 mins 54 followed by Mark L who clocked a plucky 42 mins 52 running with a niggle.
'The Bacon Mon' Ian Hamilton knocked almost a minute off his 2009 effort with 44.35 with Wayne Babynec's next with a gutsy 46mins 52.
In our girls Laura Babynec led the way with 54mins23 with Mum Denise next 58mins 32 with the ever improving Cath Hodgetts getting under the magic hour in 59 mins52.
Clare Unsworth was our final finisher smiling as ever and with some much needed support by 'Mr Motivater Coates' as she managed to run the entire course without stopping and clock 1hr 8 mins 13.
The runners would like to thank the Coates family and also Derek Coop for their much needed support.

You should have been with the hardcore at the 'orrible Leek Half Marathon.
