My 50th - by Mark Lysycia

Hi Everyone,

Just back from a few days away so this is the first opportunity for me to say a few words about the charity 50th birthday race, Wednesday 16th June.

I want to start by saying a huge thank you to all of you who turned up on the night to either run, help or watch. I was overwhelmed with the support and the numbers, 55 ran, which is only a few numbers down on a very well "established" mid week 5 mile race, think it was the goody bag, prizes and a water at the end which swung it...oh and a pastie! I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and hope you all had a good night. I will remember it for a long time.

Early indications show we have made around £377 either through raffle ticket sales and race entries, so well done to you all.
As we had 55 runners and over 35 A+T runners, I cannot begin to list all the individual performances but take it from me, you all did superb and I was more than delighted you all turned up to support the event which for a mid week race is fantastic.
All the results have been published last Thursday on the A+T blog. Suffice as to say, the men and ladies from A+T did superbly, posting some really fast times on a very warm sunny evening to do a tough little 5k.

Winners

Paul Mannion 1st 16.57...continues to dominate the 5k races

Andrew Neary 2nd and not far behind Paul. 17.23 nice to see him in the A+T colours ( always said Andrew would suit blue!)

Pete(2 pasties+3 prizes ) Chan 3rd 17.50 nice one!

Josie Maley 1st lady and 13th overall 19.35 just gets better with each race and every very race so far to date, its a prize!
