10 hardy souls managed to make their way through the snow to training at Gin Pit last night. A special well done to Suzanne, Dave C & Josie for making it. I suspect they never thought we would really run in those conditions but now they know different! We decided to run on the trails rather than the roads. A couple of the guys had head torches but we didn’t really need them as the visibility was fine. We even picked up some Bear Grylls tips from Suzanne, the trick is to wear certain items of clothing on the outside!! Can’t wait for some more tips next time! Anyway we did a 4.5 mile loop and nobody fell. It was a bit harder work than normal running but good fun. Conditions permitting we’ll do something similar on Thursday.
I’ll be covering the Tuesday and Thursday sessions from now on. We’ll do sessions from 2 miles walking/jogging right up to high mileage for those who are doing marathons this year. Let me know what you want to do and we’ll do it. Nobody will be left on their own. So if there are specific things you want to do let me know beforehand otherwise we’ll decide on the night. You can contact me on 07950 694024 or email peterm@f2s.com
Have fun in your running, it’s what it’s all about!
Pete

Change came about because Bob decided he didn't want to do it anymore. I'll try my best. Come along and see what you think.
Pete
I am fine with people leaving comments as the blog is there for everyone to have a say but please have the bottle to put your name instead of hiding behind 'annonymous'
I agree with Gary's comments.
If you don't have the bottle to put your name to a comment, then it's better to keep stum.
So come on Mr or Mrs Anonymous - what's it to be.
In reply to the comments posted anonymously, can I suggest that these people familiarise themselves with the facts before having a dig at people who are trying to keep the club training sessions going.Pete has stepped in as Bob has decided not to do it anymore. The comment about knowing routes well in advance is also ill-informed as this was a recent change implemented by Mike Newell.Until we know:
a)When snow/ice conditions are going to change
b)Which people are going to turn up on Tues/Thurs
then I don't see how routes can be organised in advance. However as things progress then routes can be planned and advised as before.
I don't think that some members realise how much time commitee members give up so that the likes of myself and others can keep running.
Last but not least I am more than happy to put my name to any of my opinions unlike it seems some of our members.
Everyone needs to keep positive, turn up to club training sessions, keep yourself fit and enjoy running. Thanks Pete for taking on the role and supporting us, i'll be back as soon as the snows cleared ! hopefully thats sooner rather than later.
