Duathlon Championships Race 3 13th December. Written by Craig Bradbury.

In the final race of a fascinating series, numbers were down due to illness, injuries and Christmas parties but the bitterly cold frosty morning didn't dampen anyone's spirits.Bob took charge of the stopwatch and ably assisted by Debbie they set us all off.

It was great to see Gary Stevens back, amazing considering he had major surgery less than two months ago,but he didn't seem any the worse for doing it as he powered up Newbrook Road!!.I think Bob and Debbie were ready for taking refuge in Bob's car when Rufus turned up , a touch late.Understandable as he was still enjoying a Jack Daniels or two at 5.30.a.m. yet he still put in a good performance.
Everyone back safe and well and off for the run.

Pete Chan,Sean Spillaine and Rufus were soon breaking away from the pack to form a big gap.One of the great successes of the series,Gary Atherton, was unfortunately forced to drop out of the run due to a back injury. The performance of the day must surely go to Sonia Gadsby who knocked a massive 7 minutes off last month's effort.Congratulations to all Category winners and overall champion Peter Chan who has shown what an awesome athlete he is.Thank you to the timekeeping ladies without whom there would have been no series.
Due to popular demand we will be doing a "one off" Duathlon in February, details of which will be posted on the Blog.
