A & T Cross Country Champs - Boggart Hole Clough

Boggart Hole 31/10/09

20 A&T runners made it to Boggart Hole for the South East Lancs cross country on Saturday. It was a lovely day again (not real cross country weather!) so the Boggy Hole wasn’t quite so boggy. The last couple of times I’ve been it was a mud bath, ask Steve Coleman about his dancing on ice exploits! This time I think the only runner who tried out the full mud treatment (falling) was Paul Basnett, well he has been giving everything a go this year.

Ladies race was first off at 2pm. Sue was first home for A&T with a great run, 13th overall, and clearly improving with every race. Next in was Brenda running strongly followed by Lyndsey with another huge improvement. Abbie was next followed by Carole then Michelle (running off her Birthday celebrations from the night before!) and Marjorie running well.
Mens race set off at 2.30. Simon was first home with another great run, 14th overall. Next home was Troy coming back to form (despite selling me a yarn about not being fit he promptly set off straight after Simon) followed by Mark Ruscoe who keeps on improving (watch your back Simon) then me closely followed by Shaun finishing very strongly. Great to see Shaun back on the cross country. Next in was Steve Colerman who has clearly now got the hang of cross country followed by Terry Gardiner , Steve Foster , Paul Jackson, Craig Bradbury , Garry, Bacon Man & Paul Basnett. Excellent team performance by the men, 3rd team out of 10.

Many thanks to the excellent support provided by Sarah Jackson and family and Abbie’s Mum & Dad.
