2010 Road Championships

Following the discussion at the last Club Meeting, I have decided to abide by the original rules with regard to promotion and relegation in the Club Championships for 2010. This will ensure that the league system remains balanced.

Of course you all still have time to qualify for a higher league and any 10km or 5mile race you complete by 31st December 2009 will count. The time you record for a 5mile race will be converted to a 10km time by means of a race time predictor. If anyone is considering completing a 5miler and wants to know what time they need to achieve in order to qualify for a higher league, please let me know and I will inform you.

So here is the fixture list for 2010 followed by a few explanatory notes.

Thanks

Garry

*=CLGP Race

Notes:

1. Have included all the CLGP races (except Gin Pit). For the other races, have tried to concentrate on pure road races as there are more and more trail races in the CLGP.

2. Have tried to avoid any clashes with X/C and Fell races.

3. Road schedule finishes earlier this year but will allow runners to focus on X/C. We’ve had several clashes this year.

4. Chernobyl on 24th January does not clash with X/C. Pre-entry by latest 10th January is recommended.

5. Lymm is a 5km race run on Saturday afternoon. Fun Run also accompanies race. Could make it a club day out. Those not fancying the 5km could do the Fun Run. Could go for pub tea after.

6. Leek half marathon is included as Swinton not likely to run half marathon in 2010. If Swinton do ultimately run the half, we could replace either half with another race.

7. Green Drive included because of popular demand.
